With huge power outages across the northeast From Sandy, we are seeing our power providers mobilize crews with impressive efficiency. To see how widespread the outages are, click here.
Crews from all over the nation are answering the call for help and already fast at work cleaning up to get power restored to families and businesses. Twitter is filled with people announcing that trucks are on the freeways headed to the disaster zones, dozens of trucks from Alabama power were spotted by many, PG&E is sending crews from California and Dominion worked hard yesterday to have 100,000 customers’ power restored just one day after the largest storm ever to hit the country! We as a nation can be proud of the response we see in these times of need and also rest assured that while natural disasters will cause problems, our electric grid is prepared to get up and running quickly and safely.
The most impressive element of this system may be the many nuclear power generating plants that were put to the test by Sandy and proved that American nuclear power providers are prepared for the worst storms nature has to offer. Click here to read more about how our nuclear operators prepare to ensure safety. The reliable nuclear power plants operating in 31 of our states provide clean air energy equaling one fifth of the electricity we use. These operators take safety seriously and invest vast resources to ensure a safe, clean and steady flow of power in the U.S. Pinnacle Investigations is proud to be a partner in this industry. Our thoughts and prayers are with the many people affected by super storm Sandy and the men and women working to restore power in every community.

Legal terms and language can sometimes seem daunting and impossible to comprehend when we see statements and language such as; Alford Doctrine, Subpoena Duces Tecum, Garnishment, and a laundry list of imposing legal vocabulary. However, when it comes to protecting you and your organization there are a few words that need to be understood and implemented more than Legal Due Diligence. The law states when it comes to employees and volunteers that an organization must establish legal due diligence in the hiring process. Legal Due Diligence is defined as; a measure of prudence, activity, or assiduity, as is properly to be expected from, and ordinarily exercised by, a reasonable and prudent person under the particular circumstances; not measured by any absolute standard but depends on the relative facts of the special case. Here is an easier way to state it; ‘Did you do everything that an intelligent person would do in making a decision?’.When it comes to criminal background checks there are some criteria that must be met to ensure that this key legal guideline is fulfilled.
